House Geladharl is the current royal line of Meriad, descended from the male line of House Undurhosen. Geladharl Monarchs have ruled the Constitutional Monarchy of Meriad since 1739. They rose to power in the wake of the War of the Three Kings, during which both opposing houses were thought to have been completely eradicated.
House Geladharl is currently headed by King Sketli Edhrophel II, the reigning monarch of Meriad.

Titles and Styles[edit | edit source]
The reigning monarch always appends the surname of "Edhrophel" to the end of his or her name, dropping the house name of Geladharl. Edhrophel, which comes from the language of the native Meriadni Innefødt people group. The title has two possible translations, as the original language from which it originated has since been nearly completely forgotten. The most likely translation is sea-walker, stemming from the arrival of the Meriadni people from the sea on ships. The other possible translation is sea-lover, coming from the same origin.
The title Edhrophel is an honorific title, and is commonly dropped in favor of the house name of Geladharl. It was introduced by early Meriadni royalty in an effort to gain support from native peoples. The title is used today simple as was way to respect tradition.
