The Civil Police Service is the national police force that serves Meriad. It is tasked with conducting operations that transcend multiple regional boundaries and with investigations of organized crime, money laundering, terrorism, and other federal-level criminal activities.
History[edit | edit source]
The Meriandi Civil Police Service can trace its roots back to 1705, when the first large-scale organized crime activity was first documented. Prior to that point, the law had been administered by royally-appointed marshals or sheriffs, who had the power to arrest criminals in the name of the king and bring them before trial.
Methodology[edit | edit source]
The Civil Police Service is widely known to be extremely thorough and efficient, with civil police officers operating more like cohesive units than individuals. Civil Police Service vehicles are almost entirely unmarked, and cover a massive range of makes and models, so that criminals will be unable to pick civil police officers out from civilians. The Civil Police Service also operates a range of unconventional vehicles, such as several Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical reconnaissance vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and even several armed patrol craft.
